throughputs decrease when the average file size increases. However, the performance
of the ssl with session model degrades more rapidly than the ssl with bf model because
when the file size becomes large, the load imbalance among the servers in the cluster
increases.
The ssl with bf model alleviates the load imbalance using the backend forwarding
algorithm, while in the ssl with session model, when a node has an outstanding request
that requires to generate a large dynamic content, subsequent requests suffer from large
waiting time. Therefore, the latency difference increases as the file size becomes larger.
The throughput of two models also decreases with larger file size, but the throughput of
ssl with bf can remain relatively constant until the average file size becomes 45KBytes
compared to the ssl with session model.
In the next experiment, we consider the clients' access behavior. Mitzenmacher
[52] analyzed the clients' behavior, which indicates that most of the clients access Web
