size is unusually large due to many course materials and multimedia files, but it has a
very small median (9.7KBytes) comparing to the average file size. Thus, it shows the
largest standard deviation. The UCB trace provides the largest number of the Web data
items and the smallest average file size. The smallest standard deviation means that the
sizes of the UCB Web data items vary little. The PSU trace has the medium average
file size and the smallest data set size, but the number of requests per day is the highest.
All traces show much smaller median values than the averages of the file size and the
averages of the transferred bytes are slightly smaller than the average file sizes, shown
in Table 5.1.
