There are approximately 4,000 active duty & reserve military

positions in Miami Dade County's three military organizations.

When dependents are included & the frequent turnover is

factored in, the number is significantly larger   up to 10,000

persons in any given year.

What Is The Need For Discounts?

The companies in the Discount Directory have answered the call

to support active duty & reserve military in our community &

provide discounts for goods & services.  The south Florida

business community recognizes that our cost of living is high

when compared to other military assignment locations. Pay

supplements do not make up that difference.  This Discount

Directory was assembled in answer to requests from the local

military to assist their personnel.

How Did Companies Participate?

The MDDA marketed the opportunity to be included in the

Discount Directory through area chambers of commerce and

economic development organizations.  However, companies do

not have to be a member of any particular organization or group

to be included in the Directory.
