Chapter 1 Introduction

Before you let your excitement get the best of you and open Dreamweaver MX and 

started designing a web page, here are answers to some popular questions about what 

the Internet is and what Macromedia Dreamweaver can do to help you get a presence 

on the Internet.

You'll want to become comfortable with popular web terms, understanding the differ 

ence between the Internet and the World Wide Web, what HTML is how it works 

with a web browser to display web pages.

Once your comfortable with those items, you can get a feel for the reasons behind 

having two copies of your website, and how to create the folder for the local copy of 

your website that exists on your computer.

It may sound like a lot to know even before you open the Dreamweaver MX program,
