Opening Dreamweaver (Macintosh)
Mac users, double click the Dreamweaver icon on the desktop, or locate the program
file on the hard drive, most likely in the Applications folder.
Selecting a workspace (Windows only)
When selecting a workspace, you have three different options: Dreamweaver MX
Workspace, Dreamweaver MX Workspace with HomeSite/Coder Style, and the
Dreamweaver 4 Workspace. It is easy to change your workspace, so feel free to try
each one to determine the best fit for your needs. This manual uses the Dreamweaver
MX Workspace, and recommends this option for new and novice web editors.
Choose Edit > Preferences and select

Dreamweaver MX Work
All panels, toolbars, and document windows are inte
space
grated into a single program window, similar to most
Windows based programs. This is the suggested
workspace for beginning and novice web editors, and
those who primarily design web pages in a GUI (graph
ical user interface) instead of writing the HTML.
