6.2 Inserting Images
The most common image formats found on the web are GIF and JPEG images. GIFs
are generally used more frequently because they use a maximum of 256 colors and,
therefore, tend to have smaller file sizes and quicker downloads. GIFs usually materi
alize as line art, drawings, and images composed of solid colors. JPEGs have unlim
ited colors and are best suited for photographs or images that use color gradients.
JPEGs tend to have larger file sizes which can cause slower downloads.
Inserting an image
1.
Place the cursor on the web page at the point you wish to insert the image.
2.
Choose Insert > Image,
OR click the Image icon on the Common category of the Insert bar.
3.
Locate the image file in the Select Image Source dialog box that you wish to insert
onto the web page.
