6.3 Modifying Image Properties
When inserting an image, it may be that the image isn't exactly perfect the first time.
You may want to alter the size of the image, its alignment, or the way that the text
wraps around it. You may want to add space or a border around the image. These are
all subtle changes to the image's properties, and easily done in Dreamweaver MX.
However, if you need to make more substantial changes to an image, like color,
shape, or content, you will want to utilize an image editing program.
For more about the best practices of adjusting image properties, refer to the Best Prac
tices chapter and see Images on page 89.
Size
TIP: While you can resize images
You can set the size of an image by first selecting the inserted image and then

dentally, click the Reset Size button in the Properties panel.
Alignment
When speaking of alignment for images, there are two considerations. First the left,
center, or right alignment of the image and any associated text in the same paragraph.
Second, the alignment of the text in relation to the image itself. You can use either
form or both forms of alignment together to achieve the appropriate placement of
image and text. Remember, that how the user views the alignment and placement of
images using these methods is highly dependent on their monitor size and resolution,
and the size of the viewable browser window.
An image can be aligned to the left, right, or center of your web page. To do so,
select the image and then click one of the alignment buttons in the Properties
panel. When aligned to the left or right, text will automatically wrap around the
exposed side of the image. This is not true if the image is center aligned.
