Chapter 7 Hyperlinks

This chapter explores creating and maintaining hyperlinks.  Hyperlinks are really the 

only way to get around on the Internet.  If you want your users to go to other web 

pages, you will want to put a hyperlink on your web page.  Without hyperlinks there 

simply is no convenient way for users to navigate beyond a single web page.  And 

don't think that only text can be hyperlinks, images can be hyperlinks as well.  

In addition to using hyperlinks to connect your web page to other web pages on the 

Internet, you can also use hyperlinks to generate an e mail addressed to you directly 

from your website.

After completing this chapter you should be able to:

create a relative link

create an absolute link

create an email link

establishing a link target

create and link to named anchors

Once we have discussed the creation of different hyperlinks, we'll cover some addi 

tional hyperlink options such as establishing link colors.  And remember: a chain is 

only as strong as its weakest link!
