Linking to pages using Point to File
This is a great, quick and easy method of linking to pages within your own site. To
begin you'll want to be sure that the Site panel is displayed next to the design area of
the web page so that you can see both the Properties and Site panels.
1.
If the Site panel is not displayed, choose Window > Site and move the panel if
necessary so that both the Properties and Site panels are visible.
2.
Select the text or image on the web page that you would like to use as a link.
3.
Click and drag the Point to File symbol to the destination page for the link in the
Site panel and release.

Creating named anchors
Named anchors are a great way to navigate to specific locations on a web page.
Rather than linking to the top of a web page you can link to specific information.
Anchors work in two parts. The first is to create the named anchor, or the specific
location to which a link will connect, and the second is to create a link to the named
anchor.
When inserting anchors in Dreamweaver MX, it helps to keep track of the anchor
locations by displaying the anchor symbols in the design view. Choose View >
Visual Aids > Invisible Elements to select the option of seeing Named Anchors.
