Proposal to Add Federal Telecommunications Service   Long Distance (FTS LD) 

The solution is designed for Nokia 330, Nokia 440 and Nokia 650 servers, to address 

the firewall software license issues and overall throughput. The service is available 

for Ethernet and Fast Ethernet handoffs with the maximum throughput of 235 Mbps. 

The service fees for HA Firewall Configuration includes all hardware and software 

components.

High Availability (HA) Firewall Configuration with Load 

Balancing 

HA Firewall Configuration with Load Balancing is achieved through the use of load 

balancing switches. The load balancing design allows for a linear performance 

increase by ability to add firewalls to the configuration. This is a significant 

advantage over other software based high availability and load balancing solutions 

available on the market. With this approach up to eight (8) firewall appliances can be 

placed between two (2) ServerIron switches to provide firewall high availability and 

performance load balancing. Configurations with upward of 1 Gbps of throughput 

can be achieved with this approach.
