Proposal to Add Federal Telecommunications Service Long Distance (FTS LD)
6.7.5.1.4 Redundant
High Availability (HA) Firewall Configuration with
Load Balancing
Redundant HA Firewall Configuration with Load Balancing is a truly fault tolerant
firewall configuration. Firewall redundancy and load balancing is accomplished
through the use of four (4) load balancing switches and up to eight (8) firewalls.
The solution is designed for Nokia 330, Nokia 440 and Nokia 650 servers, to address
the firewall software license issues and overall throughput. The service is available
for dual Ethernet, Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet handoffs with the maximum
throughput exceeding 1 Gbps.
The service fees for Redundant HA Firewall Configuration with Load Balancing
include all hardware and software components.
6.7.5.1.5
High Performance Redundant High Availability (HA) Firewall
Configuration with Load Balancing
High Performance Redundant HA Firewall Configuration with Load Balancing is
designed to provide the ultimate performance and uptime. It is ideal for solutions
requiring high throughput and maximum scalability. Through the use of redundant
switches, the design is scalable to sixteen (16) firewalls.
Recommended entry point of this solution is bandwidth requirement of 500 Mbps
Committed Information Rate. Therefore, the basic system design includes eight (8)
Foundry switches and five (5) Nokia servers.
The solution is available for Nokia 440 and Nokia 650 servers, to address the firewall
software license issues and overall throughput. The service is available for dual
Gigabit Ethernet handoffs with the maximum throughput of 3.5 Gbps.
