RSA ACE/Agents are the software intermediaries, that enable strong
authentication. They function much like a security guard, enforcing security
policies as established within the RSA ACE/Server system. RSA ACE/Agents
are device specific software agents, built into most leading network
equipment, as well as Internet browsers and Web Server software systems.
ACE/Agents may reside anywhere within the enterprise to allow
authentication of users desiring access to protected resources.
RSA SecurID Authenticators are end user devices (such as the key fob)
with a built in chip that generates one time token codes (every 60 seconds)
that, when combined with a user's secret 4 digit Personal Identification
Number (PIN), provide the PASSCODE used in the two factor strong
authentication.
The RSA SecurID solution currently serves over eight (8) million users worldwide,
helping organizations across many industries including financial services, healthcare,
government, telecommunications and more to protect corporate data assets from
internal and external hackers.
