Proposal to Add Federal Telecommunications Service   Long Distance (FTS LD) 

The service fees for High Performance Redundant HA Firewall Configuration with 

Load Balancing include all hardware and software components.  

Additional Information: 

Foundry  ServerIron switches implemented in HA Firewall configurations are 

intended exclusively for load balancing of the firewalls. Web server load balancing 

setup will not be allowed on the firewall load balancing switches.  

If load balancing of web servers located behind the HA firewall design is needed, an 

additional switch (or a pair of switches) will have to be provided to setup to Local 

Server Load Balancing. Service fees for HA Firewall configurations do no include 

the fees associated with Local Server Load Balancing.

Virtual Private Network (VPN) 

Managed VPN is an option to an AT&T Business firewall configuration. A VPN 

provides secured transport of information over the Internet. VPN service gives 

businesses the same capabilities as traditional leased lines at a much lower cost by 

using the shared public Internet infrastructure rather than a private leased line 

network. Privacy and security are maintained through the use of tunneling protocols, 

encryption and security policies.
