AT&T has a full suite of managed data storage services and Database services
available to help support the Government's data management needs.
6.7.10 Managed Storage Services
Within AT&T Internet Data Centers lie easy to access, high availability storage
network solutions. These enterprise class storage solutions can easily and cost
effectively allow the Government's business to access its rapidly growing volumes of
business critical information without complications. AT&T managed storage
solutions deliver best in breed reliability, availability and security while empowering
the Government with increased control and optimal utilization of complex storage
requirements.
6.7.10.1 Tape Backup and Restore Utility Service
Tape Backup and Restore Utility Service is an optional feature which provides fully
managed data backup and restore services through a private, local back end network
within each Internet Data Center. This service is a turnkey backup and restore
solution. Once a week, the Government's mission critical data will be backed up to
tape. Six times a week, the data will be incrementally backed up. After each two
week period, each tape will be overwritten. Each month, a full backup of weekly data
will be taken off site for storage, for a retention period of three (3) months, for
disaster recovery purposes. A 7 year Off Site Tape Storage plan is also available.
The tape backup service, provided in conjunction with Sun Microsystems and
Arsenal Digital, utilizes Veritas NetBackup solution and Digital Linear Tape (DLT)
tape storage technology. The optional feature offers full management of the
Government's data backup process for individual files, file systems, and database
(online and offline mode) applications.
