Contract # GS00T01AHD0002
Proposal to Add Federal Telecommunications Service Long Distance (FTS LD)
SDSL provides up to 1.5 Mbps duplex bandwidth. The maximum
bandwidth varies depending upon the distance of customer location from the
central office (where the phone terminates). The larger the distance, the
smaller the bandwidth.
ADSL provides asymmetric bandwidth to the customer premises. The
downstream bandwidth (to the customer from the network) is larger than the
upstream bandwidth (to the network from the customer). The customer
eligibility for these bandwidths depends upon the distance the user is from the
central office just like SDSL. ADSL is used for Internet and remote LAN
access.
IDSL provides up to 144 Kbps transfer rates in each direction (similar to
ISDN).
