Editing a file
Editing a pre existing file through File Manager allows you to make immediate changes HTML files on your web
site, without having to upload a new version of the file. This is useful for small changes, but would be inefficient
for large amounts of coding.
Note: You can only edit HTML files using File Manager.
To edit a file:
1. Navigate to the folder in which the file you want to edit resides.
2. Click on the
button.
3. Edit the text in the display area as required. Occasionally you may want click on the
button to save your work.
4. Preview the page in your web browser by clicking on the
button.
5. Click on the
button when you are finished.

Renaming a file
You can quickly rename a file or folder if you originally labelled a file or folder with the wrong name, or if the
file extension needs to be updated. This is useful if a small number of files need to be changed, since you do not
need upload any files for the changes take effect, but inefficient if you need to rename your entire site.
To rename a file:
1. Navigate to the folder in which the file you want to rename resides.
2. Click on the
button.
3. Enter the new name of the file and click on the
button.

Deleting a folder or file
You can delete a file or folder using File Manager at any time.
Note: Make sure that you do need delete the folder or file as there is no undo function once the item has been
deleted, it is gone.
To delete a folder or file:
1. Navigate to the folder in which the folder or file you want to delete resides.
2. Click on the
button next to the folder or file you want to delete.
3. Confirm that you want to delete this folder or file in the dialog box. The folder or file has now been deleted.
