Services
Hosting Controller can generate a list of all of the services available on your server. After the list has been
generated you can edit the startup properties and/or status of the service refer to page 72 and page 73 for more
information.
There are a number of Hosting Controller specific services that you need to be aware of:
Hosting Controller The essential service for remote setup; if you are hosting mail and/or domain names,
this service MUST be running. This is also called HC DCOM.
Hosting Controller Payments Service Handles automatic payments and invoicing.
HCSMTP Service Handles all sent email, including emailed invoices.

To list your server services:
1. Click on the List Services link in the Services menu.
2. A color coded list of services is now displayed.

Setting the startup properties of a service
You can set the startup properties of any service that is available on your server. The following startup properties
are available:
Automatic The service is running upon startup.
Manual The service is disabled upon startup but can be turned on by an application.
Disabled The service is disabled upon startup and cannot be turned on by an application.
To set the startup properties of a service:
1. Click on the List Services link in the Services menu.
2. Click on the link in the Startup Type column next to the required service.
3. Choose the startup type from the available drop down list and click on the
button.
