3.21. IMPORTING USERS
CHAPTER 3. HOW DO I USE HOSTING CONTROLLER?
3.21
Importing users
Hosting Controller enables you to import existing non Hosting Controller users into your system. Hosting Con
troller gets the list of users from the operating system, and you can state whether they will be created as a
Reseller or WebAdmin account, what Reseller account the user will appear under, and what hosting plan the user
will use.
Note:
Hosting Controller creates all its users in the operating system of your web server and these users are
authenticated from the operating system, not the Hosting Controller database. A list of these users is available
here: Start Settings Administrative Tools Computer Management Local Users and Groups
Users.
To import a user into Hosting Controller:
1. Click on the Import Users link in the Import menu.
2. Choose the required user from the NonHC Member drop down list and select the role for that user from
the Reseller or Web Admin radio buttones.
3. Choose a Reseller for this WebAdmin account from the Reseller Members drop down list, if required.
4. Choose a hosting plan for the new user from the Hosting Plan for WebAdmin drop down list, if required.
5. Enter the user's email address in the Email Address field. This email address will be used for retrieving
a forgotten password, so make sure it is a valid email.
6. Click on the
button.
