Editing user permissions
Hosting Controller enables you to set the level of user permission for each virtual server or subweb that you have
installed. There are several levels of user permission:
Remove this user Removes all access the virtual server or subweb for that user. If browsing is enabled
for all users then this user can still browse the server of subweb anonymously.
Browse Access Allows the user to browse the server or subweb the user has read access.
Browse and Author Access Allows the user to browse and change the server or subweb using FrontPage
the user has read and write access.
Browse, Author, and Administrate Access Allows the user to browse and change the server or
subweb using FrontPage, as well the ability add and remove users the user has full access.
To edit user permissions:
1. Click on the User Permissions link in the Front Page menu.
2. Choose the domain name be edited from the Virtual Host Name drop down list.
3. Specify the port number for the Extensions in the Port Number field. The default value is usually the
correct one.
4. Enter the name of the server or subweb folder be edited in the Web Name field.
5. Choose the required user that you want to edit from the Username drop down list.
6. Click on the required radio button set the level of access for this user, and click on the
button.

Editing IP address permissions
IP (Internet Protocol) address permissions are similar to user permissions, except that instead of setting access
levels for a particular user, you are setting access levels for a particular IP address or range of IP addresses. IP
addresses are the numbers assigned computers on the Internet, therefore, by setting these permissions, you can
set the access level of a particular computer or range of computers.
There are several levels of access permission:
