Enabling or disabling authoring
Hosting Controller enables you to enable or disable authoring for your entire virtual server. Authoring allows
users browse and change the server using FrontPage; the user has read and write access. This is a general setting
you can set authoring permissions by user name or IP address, if required. Refer to page 82 and page 82 for
more information.
To enable or disable authoring:
1. Click on the Enable Authoring or Disable Authoring link in the Front Page menu.
2. Choose the domain name be edited from the Virtual Host Name drop down list.
3. Specify the port number for the Extensions in the Port Number field. The default value is usually the
correct one.

Problems with FrontPage
If you are having trouble with FrontPage on your site, there are some diagnostic procedures you can perform:
Check extensions You can check the installation of FrontPage Extensions on your site, whether a specific
folder or your entire site, and verifies that file permissions and FrontPage specific directories are fixed. Refer
to page 81 for more information.
Reinstall FrontPage To reinstall FrontPage Extensions, you need to uninstall the Extensions first. Refer
to page 78 and page 78 for more information.
